Folders Popup v3 is out with favorite documents and links, menu icons and colors

Thanks to a dozen of beta testers (Steve, Frank A, Lou G, Geert, Todd, Martin, and other who preferred to contact me by email), Folders Popup has been well tested and is now ready for prime time! This is version 3.1 (releases 3.0.x were used for the beta phase). Here is a slideshow of the renewed menus and dialog boxes and a list of additions and improvements.

Beta testers wanted for Folders Popup v3

I will be ready to release v3 of Folders Popup in the next weeks. There are many funny improvements that I would like to test with beta users before going live with it. I already have a dozen of testers but there is an opportunity now to grow this nice team :-) Please, send me an email if you are interested.

Should Folders Popup maintain a list of supported dialog boxes?

I'm not sure if this discussion will be very successful in the middle of a so nice summer (at least here, in Canada :-) But lets try it...

If you used Folders Popup enough, you probably got at some point a special menu when you clicked the middle mouse button over a dialog box saying:

Using Folders Popup with Directory Opus

Folders Popup v2 now available with submenus!

The second version of Folders Popup is now available for free public distribution. Thanks you to the beta testers group who helped making this product ready and to all users who helped to make it always better with their suggestions and comments.

What’s new in version 2
- Submenus
- Switch to another Explorer
- Recent folders
- Language support (English, French and German... and more to come with some help)
- New more user friendly "Settings" dialog box
- Support for Directory Opus (see Using Folders Popup with Directory Opus)

Here is a preview of this new version.

FoldersPopup now compatible with Clover and FreeCommander

Following the suggestion of users of Clover and FreeCommander, I added some code to FoldersPopup v1.2.5 in order to support these two applications.

Clover is an extension of the Windows Explorer, to add multi-tab functionality similar to Google Chrome browser.

FreeCommander is a powerful alternative to the standard windows file manager.

Users can make suggestions or report bugs specific to these apps in this thread.

Making life lot easier!

Talking about web coverage, I Love Free Software had these nice words about Folders Popup:

While using FoldersPopup, I realized again that life is lot easier because we have software like this. You’d realize it, when you start using it.

MyTunesCovers early coverage

I am surprised by the web coverage received by MyTunesCovers after only a few days while the product is only in the alpha stage of development. That being said, the product in its current state appears to be stable and already meet the needs of iTunes users who want complete control over the covers of their library.

You can see these two MyTunesCovers reviews on I Love Free Software and SoftPedia where it gets five stars from the (2) users! :)

My Tunes Covers first ALPHA release

Be among the firsts to use this new app and help make it work the way it should. Download the app here. Suggestions and bug reports are much appreciated!

Even if this application has been well tested, you must understand that this is an unfinished product that may not always behave as expected. Before using this ALPHA version, make sure you have a recent backup of your library and music data. Also, in this ALPHA release, My Tunes Covers only process music files from your iTunes Library. But, in its final release, it will process MP3 files as well. If you do not use iTunes, please come back later when the MP3 component will be ready.
